Greetings and Welcome to Psychology 101!

Thank you for enrolling in my introductory psychology course. I hope this fall semester sill finds you well and in good spirits. I encourage you to persevere and work towards your personal, academic. and professional goals.

My name is Peter Grant. For several years now, I have been privileged with the opportunity to introduce students to this widely applicable, exiting, and fascinating field. It is my job to instruct, assist, encourage, and coach you along the path to success. As your instructor, I will bring my full experience to bear to deliver an enjoyable, transparent, and user-friendly course. It is your job to carefully read and understand the course syllabus, keep up with chapter readings, know exact due dates on assignments and tests, and to submit all work on time. This will empower me to calculate the best possible grade to match your achievement.

On Canvas you will find a link to our course syllabus. The syllabus is a very important document. Read it immediately and in fine detail. It is your guide to understanding how this course works and what you are responsible to know. It contains important due dates for assignments and tests and describes policies on grading, attendance, submission of late work, make-up exams, plagiarism, etc. Knowing and understanding the syllabus is key to your success in this course.

Your first assignment is to write a 1-page self-introduction so I can get know you as soon as possible. You will find detailed instructions on how to write and upload this assignment under the “assignments” section in Canvas.

Our weekly Zoom meetings form a virtual classroom where you will receive guided instruction. I will pause frequently for comments and questions. For questions outside of class, please contact me without hesitation using my university email.
