Obtaining your Student ID (i.e., ClipperCard)

A ClipperCard is your student ID and is required for all students attending Salem State University. Your ClipperCard also serves as your:

Salem State Library card
Access to the Salem State Parking Garage (with a Commuter Parking Pass)
Copy and print card ($5 for printing copying is automatically added to your card each semester)
Gassett Fitness Center card
ClipperCash to make purchases on- and off-campus

All students receive their first ClipperCard free of charge. Replacements are $10.

Steps to Obtain a ClipperCard

Download the GET app (Android or Apple) and submit your photo. Your card can be mailed to you or you can pick it up in the office. If picking it up, come to the Student Navigation Center located on the 2nd floor of the Classroom Building on Central Campus. You will need:

Your student ID number
A government issued photo ID (license, state ID and passport are all accepted).

Requesting Academic Accommodations

For academic accommodations, students must register with the Center for Accessible Academic Resources (CAAR; formerly Disability Services) and provide documentation of the disability in order to determine eligibility.

Students must request accommodations for each semester they attend Salem State. Accommodation forms have expiration dates.

Documentation Requirements for Academic Accommodations

Documentation must be:

Current (specific to the disability)
Provide a clear diagnosis
Given by the appropriate medical mental health professional
Clearly connect the functional limitations related to the disorder

The Center for Accessible Academic Resources (CAAR) promotes an accessible educational and campus-wide experience by coordinating services and accommodations for students with disabilities.

Parking on Campus

Salem State University has permitted parking areas available on each campus. All vehicles parked on university property must be properly permitted. Parking permit decals will be available for purchase online through your Navigator or Polaris account beginning in August each year. Additional information regarding parking decal purchase and pricing can be found at parking decal information.

Vehicles that are not parked within the designated permit area are subject to ticketing and towing. In an effort to ensure compliance with the university parking regulations, the university police department has added dedicated parking enforcement officers.
